Reducing Waste
Your boss at Jake's Bagel Shop is trying to make the kitchen more efficient and less wasteful. At his request, you have started analyzing trends in what sells well and what does not. Some of the things you notice:

• Sweet foods, like cinnamon rolls, tend to go stale and get thrown out during the week, but sell out early on weekends.
• Low-fat and skim milk are used in drinks more often in the morning; likewise, caffeinated drinks sell far better in the morning.
• The bread section sells out early on Friday afternoons, but on Monday and Tuesday afternoons, much of it goes to waste.
