Succeeding in the World of Work

Chapter 14: Teamwork and Leadership

Personal Academic and Career Portfolio Help

Teamwork Strategies

As you research teams using print or Internet resources, take notes on behaviors that help—and hurt—teamwork. Use interviews to gather real-world information on the use of teamwork and the characteristics of teams in your chosen career cluster. Research the use of functional and cross-functional teams, how teams set goals, who takes leadership in teams, whether team training is available, and who is accountable for teams' performance. Also reflect on your own participation in teams in class and on the job and how you could be a better team worker in the future.

Continue to add observations and research on teams and teamwork as you progress toward your career goal.
