Destination Site: The Introduction to Web Design Using Dreamweaver Site

1
If you are using Windows, right-click on the Web Design Resource link on the left. Choose Open Link in New Window. (If using a Macintosh, press Control and click on the link.) A new page will open, containing links to useful sites related to Web design. How many links appear on the Web Design Resource page? These sites can help you answer questions and complete activities in your textbook. Read the statement keyed in red at the top of the page. Note that the sites on this page are not part of your textbook Web site, so evaluate the information carefully.
2
Click on one of the Resource links. Which site link did you click? Always be careful if you find a Web site that asks you for personal information. The organization that runs the site could sell or share your information with other companies without your knowledge. Does the page you selected ask you to register or enter any personal information about yourself? If yes, skip that part of the site and browse other areas that are “free” to use. What “free” information is available on the site you chose? Close the Web Design Resource Links browser window.
3
Right-click on the e-Review PowerTeach Outlines link. Choose Open in New Window. Click on one of the PowerTeach links. (If using a Macintosh, press Control and click on the link.) What options appear in the dialog box that pops up? Ask your teacher if it is okay to open or download files that you find on this book’s Web site. Get permission from a parent, guardian, or teacher before downloading anything from the Internet. Never download anything from a site that is unfamiliar to you.
4
Right-click on the Go Online Activities link. Choose Open in New Window. These activities will give you a hands-on introduction to the Web design topics throughout your textbook. Click on one of the topic links. A new page will appear. How many questions do you need to answer on this page? How can you answer the questions if the destination site links no longer work?
