Follow these steps to solve the Section 8.1 Math Practice problem.

Figure It Out  You earn $300 a month. During the last three months, you spent $30, $36.30, and $29.55 on entertainment. What is the average percentage you spent on entertainment each month?

Step 1  Calculate how much you have spent on entertainment over the last three months. Add the three monthly amounts.

Step 2  Divide the total by three to get the average for the last three months.

Step 3  Divide the average by your monthly pay. Convert the decimal to a percent. Round up. This is the answer to the question.
