Section 1: Gathering Job Leads

Answers to Section Review

After You Read

  1. A temp job is a job that is not permanent. A temp-to-hire job is a job that changes from a temp job to a permanent job.
  2. Three ways to search for job listings on an Internet job board include searching by location, for example you could search for jobs in a particular city or county; you could search by industry, for example you could look for jobs in manufacturing or engineering; and you could search by keywords, for example you could search the keywords "sales" or "retail."
  3. You should list one of the sources of job leads and explain why you feel it would be most successful for their particular needs. For example, employment agencies might be listed because students want the help of an agency in finding a job; classified ads might be listed because they list jobs in their local community; or the Internet might be listed because it provides students extra information about the job, helping to ensure a good match.
