Introduction
Alcohol is the number one drug abused by young people. One of the reasons alcohol is so popular is because of the way it is marketed. On the Web site below you will learn some facts about alcohol, the problems it causes, and the ads that are used to sell it.

Instructions

  • Start at the Youth in Action Web site.
  • Click on and read the “Statistics,” and “Are You a Target” links. Take notes as you go.
  • When you are done, answer the questions below.
  • Finally, using the information provided on the Web site, find an alcohol ad that you think violates the rules of The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States. Make a flyer that shows the ad and tells why it is wrong for alcohol companies to use it.
