Chapter 18: Serving Food

Chapter Summary

Food is served in a variety of styles and circumstances. There are four types of tableware used to serve and eat food. Tableware can be bought in range of styles and prices. A table should be set properly before people sit down to eat. Meals can be served in different ways for different occasions, including at home, for large groups, as a family, in packed lunch, and outdoors. Food is an important part of entertaining. It is important to demonstrate etiquette when dining at the table, while eating with people from other cultures, and while hosting guests. Etiquette is also important at restaurants and while making complaints and compliments.
