Shooting an Elephant

In this essay, Orwell describes ways in which people and an animal are targets for those who oppose or lack understanding of them. Identify the targets within the text, such as the coolie and the elephant. Then write a brief essay about how the idea of being targeted is explored in the text. Also include how being a target might feel by relating the text to a personal recollection of an episode in which you felt targeted.
