Sonnet 43

Love is a common human experience but notoriously hard to express in words without making it sound common. Browning gets around that problem by using a series of metaphors (“I love thee to the depth and breadth and height / My soul can reach”) and similes (“I love thee freely, as men strive for Right”) to make the idea fresh and compelling. Write a poem modeled on Browning’s that offers a series of vivid comparisons to explain something that is hard to put into words.
