"Gladiator Games"

Introduction
In addition to their many other contributions to Roman civilization, the Estruscans introduced ancient Romans to the practice of holding gladiatorial games. They also laid the groundwork for the Forum, Rome's public square. At the Forum, ancient Romans enjoyed the gladiatorial games, and as the Roman Empire grew, the gladiatorial games became more elaborate. Fortunes were made, legends were born, and politicians rose to power during the Imperial games. To read about the Forum and its games, go to Rome's Imperial Forums Web site.
