Notes
- Have students read the Lecturas culturales section on pages 318-319 of the textbook before completing this activity.
- Remind students to apply their knowledge of car and accident vocabulary along with their understanding of cognates in order to determine the meanings of any unfamiliar words they may encounter as they work through this activity.
- You may wish to provide students with the following list of vocabulary words before they begin the activity.

- Encourage
students to use informal commands when
appropriate to answer questions on the
worksheet.
- Students will need to scroll down the entire Web page in order to find all the answers to the questions in the ¡A navegar! section of the worksheet.
Expansion
- Have students role-play the conversation with the socorrista in the Después de navegar section of the worksheet.
- Have students expand the lists of advice about safe driving that they generated in the Antes de navegar section of this activity. Then ask them to illustrate each piece of advice on a poster that can be displayed around the school.
- Have students brainstorm various injuries that might have occurred as a result of the accident as well as the treatments they think should be administered. Then have students role-play the accident.
