Introduction
Students have read “Context Clues: Reading in the Social Studies” and completed three exercises to learn the following new vocabulary words: bulwark, calamity, disperse, laden, pernicious, placid, procure, relic, relinquish, and salvage. 

Lesson Description
Students will complete a crossword, using all of the above vocabulary.

Instructional Objectives
Students will be able to match word definitions with their respective vocabulary terms.
