Figure It Out   Your business will donate 12% of its net profit to the community for every dollar it makes over $250,000. If the company makes $467,982, what is the total amount that will be donated?

Step 1  Subtract $250,000 from the amount the company makes.

Step 2  Convert your percentage (12%) to a decimal.

Step 3  Multiply the decimal by the number you calculated in Step 1. This is the total amount that will be donated.
