Entering the World of Work

Section 2: Networking

Answers to Section Review

After You Read

  1. A contact list should contain a contact's name, the person's contact information, and notes. Sketches should resemble the chart shown on page 144.
  2. To find job openings by contacting employers directly, you find the name of businesses where you might like to work, learn about the businesses, and then make a cold-call to ask if the business has job openings.
  3. Answers will vary. Some students might choose to advertise a job opening because they feel it is fairer or that it would enable them to find the most qualified person for the job. Other students might choose to hire someone they know because this method would be cheaper than advertising or because it is easier than having to interview and evaluate people they don't know.
