  1. Police officers receive long-term on-the-job training. Before you become a police officer you need to learn how to use police equipment and weapons, learn about the law, learn self-defense, and learn how to handle emergencies.
  2. Answers should indicate that in an apprenticeship a worker is paid and learns on-the-job from an expert worker for a long period of time, whereas internships are sometimes unpaid, short-term, and usually for college students or recent graduates in professional fields.
  3. Answers should indicate that occupations involving complex tasks and requiring specialized skills, such as dentistry, require more education and training than those occupations involving less complex tasks and requiring less specialized skills, such as dental assisting.
