Through your research online and/or at your local library, find an impressionist painting and an impressionist musical work that are NOT thematically related to each other. Write two paragraphs. Begin the first with an identification of the painting and painter, and continue with a description of a hypothetical musical work that you would compose for this painting. What would the texture, melody, and rhythm be like for this painting? What instrument or ensemble would be most appropriate?

In your second paragraph, identify the musical work and composer, and continue with a description of a hypothetical work of art that you would paint or draw to correlate with this musical work. What would the subject of your painting be, and what colors would we see?
