Introduction
In this chapter, students learned about U.S. foreign policy under President Richard Nixon. One of Nixon's most trusted associates was his national security adviser, Henry Kissinger, who played a major role in most of the foreign policy decisions of the time, including the United States 's attempt to end Arab-Israeli conflict and bring peace to the Middle East.

Lesson Description
Students will learn about presidential adviser Henry Kissinger and his role in American foreign policy under President Richard Nixon, including the U.S. role in the conflict in the Middle East.

Instructional Objectives

1. The student will recognize Henry Kissinger's contributions to American foreign policy during the Nixon presidency.
2. The student will identify and explain Kissinger's actions to bring about peace in the Middle East.
