Objective
  • To familiarize students with the legend of Santiago de Compostela and some of the historic towns along El Camino de Santiago

Notes

  • This activity complements the Lectura opcional on pages 392-393 of the textbook. You may wish to have your students read it before they begin the activity.
  • You may wish to brainstorm with students keywords in Spanish that will help direct them to Spanish-language Web sites to complete this WebQuest.

Expansion

  • Have students print out photos from their virtual journey and make a presentation to the class. Students may wish to compare to other trips (or hikes) they have taken in the past. Encourage students to discuss changes in their daily routines.
  • Students may have the option of staying at a beautiful or historic parador, a hotel, or, in the later stages of the trip, an inn or mountain hut (refugio). Encourage them to explore different types of lodging. There are numerous Web sites that explain the history of the paradores.
