Mini models of energy devices

Project Type: Technology
Have students research, design, and construct energy resource saving models of windmills, wave and water mills, solar panels, dams, geothermal stations, and composting gas for energy. Students should be able to explain how their model works, saves energy resources, money, and the environment.

Have the students write one page on each type of energy resource listed above (six pages in total).

Assigns groups of students one of the following models

  • Windmill
  • Wave and watermill
  • Solar panels
  • Dam
  • Geothermal station
Have these groups of students explain how their model works, saves energy resources, money, and the environment in a presentation to the class.

Time:
2 weeks to research; 1 day to present models
