Writer's Choice Grade 6

Unit 7: Troubleshooter

Overview

Suppose that an employer received a letter reading, "I seen your ad in the payper and wan't too applie for the job." How do you think the employer would react to the grammar and spelling mistakes?

One reason to revise writing is to correct errors. Mistakes make it difficult for readers to understand the expressed ideas. Certain errors are particularly distracting to the reader. Codes for these errors are found on page 249 of your textbook. After each code, you'll find a page number. Go to the page number to find out how to correct the mistake. For example, frag means "sentence fragment." By studying lesson 7.1, you can find out how to turn fragments into complete sentences.
