Make a list of the important qualities to be included in an infant-toddler room design. Explain how each item supports learning.

Design one room layout for infants and one for toddlers. Assess your room designs for quality. Explain how they are safe and developmentally appropriate.

Explain how caregiving routines, such as eating, diapering, washing of hands, napping etc., support learning. How might an environment be designed to incorporate caregiving routines?

Visit a local licensed infant and toddler program in your area. Draw a room diagram and assess the design for safety and learning. Is it developmentally appropriate? How are the caregiving routines incorporated (same or separate rooms)?
