- Minitab Portable (for Macintosh or Windows)
- TI-Graph Link files for TI-83
- Excel for Windows
- Excel for Macintosh
- Comma-delimited ASCII
- SPSS for Windows
Naming Convention
The files are named according to the following convention:
- The initial letter denotes the type of problem.
- E = Example
- I = Introduction
- P = Exercise
- Q = Quiz
- T = Table
- MT = Minitab Examples
- TI83 = TI-83 Calculator Exercises
- XL = Excel Examples
- CT = Critical Thinking
- RP = Review Exercises
- EC = Extending the Concepts
- The remainder of the file name denotes chapter and problem number.
For example, E-C03-S02-15 refers to Chapter 3 Section 2 Example 15.
Note to TI83 Graph Link users: Two types of files are present.
- Those that are named .83l include one column of data. When the data is sent to the TI-83 calculator, it is
saved to the calculator as a list with the same name as the file on this CD-ROM without the .83l
extension.
- Files containing the .83m extension include more than one column of data. The TI-83 interprets this
data as a matrix. The data is saved on the calculator as matrix [A] by default. To convert the matrix to lists
for data analysis, choose "List" and then go to the "Ops" menu. Select the "MATR->LIST" command to convert
the matrix columns into separate lists.
