"Prince Henry the Navigator"

Introduction
In this chapter you have learned about the exploration of the Americas by Spanish and Portuguese explorers. Portugal 's position along the coast of Spain and the support of its rulers helped the country become a leader in exploring the Americas. An important figure in Portuguese explorations was Prince Henry, who never sailed these voyages but authorized many explorations to Africa. In this activity, you will learn more about the life and times of Henry the Navigator.
