Unit Activity Lesson Plans

Introduction
Students have read about sentence combining. In this lesson, they will combine two or more sentences into one simple or compound sentence.

Lesson Description
Students will combine each sentence pair below to form a compound sentence or a simple sentence with compound parts. Students must add punctuation and coordinating conjunctions as needed.

Instructional Objectives

  1. Students will be able to combine sentence by deleting repeated words, using connecting words, rearranging words, and changing the form of words.
  2. Students will be able to write clearly and concisely.
