The Night Ghost

In “The Night Ghost,” Gary Paulsen uses many literary elements to create a specific mood. Think of a mood you would like to capture. Then write a paragraph in which you try to create this mood, using elements like word choice and setting. When you are done writing your paragraph, read it to the class. Have other students try to guess what mood you were trying to capture. If they guess incorrectly, discuss ways in which you might edit the paragraph to make the mood more obvious.
