Exile

The speaker of “Exile” is a child who is frightened about her new life in a new city. Have you ever been frightened of a big change in your own life? Perhaps you moved to a new town and did not know anyone. Or maybe you felt frightened when you entered a new school. Think about one of these experiences, and then compose a poem in the third-person point of view about someone experiencing a big change. It can be as long or as short as you would like, and it does not have to rhyme. Try to convey a sense of the fear and excitement a big change can bring.
