Executive Order No. 9066 from I Am an American: A True Story of Japanese Internment

In the early 1940s, many government officials feared that Japanese citizens and residents of the United States would betray their country for Japan. “Executive Order No. 9066” describes the fear and paranoia that swept California and the country. Do you think that this fear and paranoia was limited to this time and place or have there been other times when the United States has acted in similar ways? Write a short essay about this topic, using examples from your textbook to argue your point.
