Reading-Writing Connection Activities

1.

I heard a Fly buzz when I died and The Bustle in a House

A good way to connect to literature is to write a response. Create a list for each of these poems by Emily Dickinson including words, phrases, or lines from each poem that are meaningful or appealing to you. Then, next to each word or phrase, write your response to the quotation. You might consider responding by interpreting the words, by connecting the words to your own life, by describing the feelings the words create for you, by questioning the words, or by commenting on the words.
