1.

from A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson

Throughout her captivity, Mary Rowlandson turned to God and familiar Bible passages for comfort. People use many different methods of coping with sadness, trauma, or loss. Some turn to religious beliefs, while others confide in parents or focus on a hobby or sport. How do you cope when you are sad? Perhaps you call your best friend, listen to music in your room, or go for a long run. Write a journal entry in which you explore the ways in which you get through difficult times.
