Objective Familiarize students with the French educational system and different types of French schools: écoles primaires, collèges, lycées. Notes You may wish to brainstorm with students keywords in French that will help direct them to French-language Web sites to complete this WebQuest. Since most of the text on school Web sites is in French, students are asked to look only for limited information and fill out a chart on their worksheet. Expansion If your school has its own server, you may want to have your class develop its own Web site. This is an excellent way to introduce your students to French-speaking students around the world and to promote keypal (electronic pen pal) exchanges. Ask your school technology coordinator for his or her assistance.
