Glencoe Science Level Blue

Unit 6: Motion, Forces, and Energy

Sir Issac Newton

Project Type: Career
Students will write an informative and educational 60 second television commercial on the life and scientific contributions of Sir Isaac Newton. They should include as many interesting facts as possible during the 60 seconds. Suggest that students read their commercial out loud to determine if they have stayed within the 60 second parameter.

Alternate Procedure:
Have the class work as a group to fulfill different components of this project. Have one group give a one minute spot on Newton's life, and ensuing groups give one minute spots on different aspects of Newton's career. This will give a more complete picture of his life. Have the students discuss as a group the many contributions of Newton after all of the presentations are complete.
