“Volunteer Opportunities”

Introduction
In this chapter you read about the duties and responsibilities of citizenship. Those who volunteer to help in their own communities or in others help improve the quality of life for all. One volunteer organization is the USA Freedom Corps. This group includes the Peace Corps, Senior Corps, and AmeriCorps. It can also direct citizens to important volunteer efforts within their own communities. In this activity you will take a closer look at these volunteer organizations.

• Click on the link to the Peace Corps, under National Service programs on the left side of the screen.
• Read the information on that page. Then click on the link to the Peace Corps home page (www.peacecorps.gov) at the bottom of the current page.
