Introduction

In this chapter, you have studied proper diction. Try it out in the Voice-over Production Studio ! This self-assessment activity will allow you to improve your diction—pronouncing vowel sounds, plosive consonants, fricative consonants, and nasal consonants—through study and practice.

Please note: you may need to download Macromedia Shockwave player to access this activity.

Once you've launched the Voice-over Production Studio, click on the Pronunciations Tab. Listen examples of the sounds. After listening to each sound, you can record your own attempt at pronouncing the sound. Next, play back your voice checking for proper pronunciation. Then move on to the subsequent sounds, following the above directions for each.
