Objective
  • To identify the countries of the Spanish-speaking world, their main cities, rivers, mountains, the surrounding countries and bodies of water, and locate them on a map

Notes

  • You may wish to brainstorm with students keywords in Spanish that will help direct them to Spanish-language Web sites to complete this WebQuest.

  • You may wish to do this activity in conjunction with the reading La Geografía in the Conexiones section of the textbook, pages 34-35, which teaches the Spanish terms for geographical features such as river, ocean, island, etc.

  • If Internet access is limited in your school, you can do this activity in class using the maps on pages xxx-xxxiii of your textbook.

  • You may assign only one map from this activity; however, feel free to have students work on two, or all three, maps of the Spanish-speaking world provided for this activity.
